Reading Blog #7

n 1-2 full paragraphs, analyze how Bamboozled might be applied to Ch. 7. Use terminology taken from the chapter and be hyper aware of the language used (the film may use offensive language, but in your blog you will NOT--you ain't Spike Lee and this class is not run by democratic rule--think of it as a benevolent dictatorship :P).

Bamboozled was a film about race, social class, hegemomy, sterotypes, racial slurs, and language. It was trying to represents ethnic groups by the sterotypes placed upon them. It had black men drinking "40 ounce" beers and pants sagging to the ground. It showed older apartements that looked like the health department should of thrown down a long time ago. It had a colored man that was educated with his degree's from top school and what people would call as a white accent. Then you had the white boss that calls himself a nigga and say's I'm more blacker than you and I'm white. I would say this film had alot of identity and minority  groups issues. I feel Spike Lee tried to put some humor into the film so people wouldn't get upset but at the same time show the importance on racism and how it still exist in our society.

  1. This movie was filled with satire and what i noticed was that there were alot of sterotypical references toward the colored characters in the movie. Like you said abouve I also so there example of these sterotypical actions, but I also noticed that the examples has somewhat of a humorous twist to them the Lee wanted to put in references that were extrememly racist with a humorous twist.
